The Nissan 240SX is a great handling car, but it is very underpowered and is at a distinct disadvantage on the ract track against most other imports... unless you go turbo, of course!

Not that I drag race often, but sometimes I get an "itch" to lay a beating on some V8s. :)

The last four years of this car's life has pretty much been dedicated to winning its Solo1 class, CSPclass "C" in Street Prepared. This is basically the highest class for street-based cars.
Solo1 is a race series that runs on road race courses where you race against the clock. Your times determine your results against similarly classed cars.
The beauty of Solo1 is that you get the speed of road racing, but not the door-to-door damage of car vs. car racing.

The Solo1 series uses a number of local road race tracks. This track is at Mosport and is called the DDT (Driver Development Track).
As you can see, I am a bit out of control in this picture... drifting for the kiddies :)
It was a very wet day, and the 240SX with the turbo does not get along with the rain very well.

Other pictures of the 240SX on the DDT. Even on this small track, I have reached speeds of 166km/h on the back straight, and it's really not a big track!

This picture was taken at the 2002 Solo1/Solo2 shoot out. This is a competition where the best drivers from Solo1 race against the best drivers from Solo2.
Needless to say, the course was like racing in a parking lot, with very sharp corners and it was tedious. It is a very drastic change from high-speed driving to parking lot, shopping cart avoidance driving. I did not fair well in the rain, as well.

From the 2002 Solo1/Solo2 shoot out: one of the sharp corners, with pylons to avoid as well.
I think I will stick with solo1 and road racing.

I race on Kosei K1 rims—so far a very good product.
